What makes this different

Most books give transfer operations a chapter. But transfer operations are a sequence, and the risk sits in the handoffs: the transfer request drafted loosely, the amendment that reached one beneficiary and not the other, the substitution that never came, the presentation that arrived at the wrong bank. This book follows that sequence end to end.

It follows the transaction, not the rulebook. Fifteen chapters in the order the work happens. Read it through, or open it at the stage you are stuck on.

It gives you documents you can use on Monday. A full sample Transfer Request Form with a note on every line, plus a transferring bank's internal policy considerations set out item by item. Raw material for your own procedures.

It introduces the Data Conflict Test. A structured method for deciding whether an inconsistency between documents amounts to a conflict under Sub-Article 14(d), with worked examples.

It confronts direct presentation. What does an issuing bank do when a second beneficiary bypasses the transferring bank? Chapter 12 raises it. Appendix B takes it apart.

It ends with a conversation. Chapter 15 covers every stage as a dialogue between a company's managing director and a senior trade finance manager. Hand it to a relationship manager. Hand it to a client.
